Ants attacked the
box where I kept many of my pictures! While committing mass anticide,
and
cleaning up the photos,
I thought I'd share some of them here.

Back when I was thin.
I think this was sometime back in 1990. Being a comic book artist was the
furthest thing from my mind. I was still working for Archt. Edgar Lee
as a construction supervisor. I'm the one 2nd from left. The guys around
me are some of the construction workers I had become friends with. We were
on our way home in this shot. But I think we went to a nearby beerhouse
for a round of beers first. They gave me someting to eat which I thought
tasted strange. I learned later it was a dog. EEEWGH! My boss asked
me to fire the rightmost guy before that project was through. It was one
of the most difficult things I've had to do. |

To be honest, I don't know
when this was taken. Those are my parents, and to the best of my
memory, I was maybe 4th year highschool and we were still living at 299
Aguado Street in San Miguel near Malacanang. This was most likely Christmas
because the time when we usually dress up and have our picture taken was
during Christmas. He.he. God, I was THAT thin back then? Amazing! |

That's
my dog Little Doggie and my cat Mimiws, looking annoyed as
she usually did. I always loved cats and I've always had one. Mimiws
was the last cat I had. When she passed on, it was so traumatic that I
never got another one since then. I wrote and drew a story about it here:
LAST
MEOW. As for my dog, I used to have 4, but they died one by one,
one after the other in quick succession. It was terrible. It's a good thing
that the youngest one, Little Doggie, was spared. She's the only pet I
have now. Why do I call her Little Doggie? Well, because she's little.
Duh. |

That's
the San Pablo Chapter of the United Architects of the Philippines
(UAP),
or at least only it's officers. The one in the loud checkered shirt
is me being an architect for a day. Taken in Max's, December 1998.
I don't practice architecture anymore, but I still participate in the activites
of our Chapter once in a while. It doesn't show but I was a little bummed
back then. My cat had just died and I had just gotten well from having
a bad fever and I was trying real hard not to cough, specially when this
was shot. |

Yes, that's REAL hair!.
For a couple of years several years ago I kept really long hair. Partly
because I was pissed, partly because I wanted to try it out. I was
amazed how liberating it felt to do it. There were times I would walk in
town with my hair down like that, ride in a jeep like that. I don't know,
but I won't be caught dead doing that now. But If I had long hair again,
who knows? I remember it really being fun. |

My girlfriend Ilyn.
Taken here in San Pablo last year. Hey notice how the rattan Mary in the
background is the same as the one in the background of the 2nd photo above!
Anyway, I met her after I met her dad, Rudy Florese. I looked for his house
a couple of years ago because I was a huge fan of his KORAK. As
I was talking to him, Ilyn stepped out of the bath all wet looking pissed.
She later told me she was pissed that there was some stranger in the house
very early in the morning and I had to see her that way. Well, we worked
it out eventually. She helps me out when I'm in a deadline jam. Being
an artist and architect herself, it wasn't that hard for us to get along.
Everyday I thank God for creating her. We're getting married next year! |
