Nestor Maglapo
Drawing specially made for "A History of Komiks of the Philippines
and Other Countries"

Born in Baluarte, Gapan, Nueva Ecija, Nestor Guese,  Malgapo was ordained to be an artist. With a father who was a portrait artist and violinist to boot and a mother who was a singer, Maglapo was not able to escape his fate.

His first work, "Walang Mukha (No Face)" appeared in Sinderala Komiks in 1960. He also did Kaibigan Ko ang Sto. Nino (My Friend, the Sto. Nino), for Pilipino Komiks.  He collaborated with Carlo Caparas in Urbano, his favorite work, Kahit Ako'y Lupa, and Huling Lalaki ng Baluarte.  He collaborated with Mars Ravelo in Wanted: Perfect Mother and Haydee.

Internationally, he contributed artwork for Marvel and DC's horror and fantasy stories.
