Like a true artist that he was, Alfredo loved to experiment, and 
Bim, Bam, Bum was one such example of that. He was one of the first artists, along with Jesse Santos among others,  in Philippine comics to use grey tones as extensively as they did. Not all panels were done in this manner in this strip, but Alfredo did continue to experiment using different textures, mixing experimental art with standard ink work.

Alfredo would employ full grey tones on all pages on some of the World
War 2 naval stories he researched and adapted to comics.
